After becoming the plan chosen by more than 5,000 people over the weekend, the Kruzenshtern bid farewell to the Port of Vigo yesterday at six o’clock in the evening.
They were two intense days filled with the curiosity of those who love the sea and everything it has to offer. The famous Russian training ship kept its deck and Orthodox Chapel open to the public, becoming the perfect setting for thousands of photos and videos.
The visit of the Russian tall ship was also a memorable moment for the Port of Vigo. During the traditional exchange of plaques, the Port presented the Captain with a Celta de Vigo jersey, starting a tradition that will continue in future plaque exchanges.
Together with the Captain of the Kruzenshtern, we would like to thank the Port of Vigo and all the companies involved for their outstanding collaboration. The Captain also praised the warm welcome received in the Galician city and expressed his intention to return next year.
For our part, we will continue working to make the Port of Vigo a mandatory stop for great tall ships like the Kruzenshtern, helping to foster the people of Vigo’s interest in the maritime world
