Foundation
THE BEGINNING
On the occasion of the Holy Jacobean Year, in 2021–2022, an extremely ambitious project was undertaken: the recreation of most of the journey made by the remains of the Apostle Saint James from Palestine to Santiago de Compostela.

To achieve this, the Traslatio Foundation was created, undertaking the commitment to take the initiative to a new level, with the intention of organizing, during every Holy Jacobean Year, or whenever the patrons deem appropriate, an international maritime route across the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean to Vigo, reenacting the Traslatio. In 2022, the 1st Iacobus Maris Route was organized, a maritime pilgrimage with large sailing ships from Genoa to Vigo.
Currently, the foundation is also the owner of the steam museum ship “Hidria Segundo,” demonstrating its commitment to the protection of maritime and cultural heritage. We also manage the historical vessels pontoon, home to the former steam tugboat “San Esteban” and the schooner “Evangelina.”
We organize visits to the “Nautilus” underwater observatory, a project of the Port of Vigo that offers visitors a unique experience, allowing them to observe the fauna and flora of Galician waters.
