The septuagenarian Pelican of London docks in Vigo and can be visited
Crossing oceans since 1948, the Pelican of London crossed this time the Atlantic waters to go to the Port of Vigo, where it has docked this morning around 12 o'clock.
As always, we wanted you to be the ones who could feel you, even if only for a while, sailors from one of the best sailboats of the 20th century.
The ship will open its doors to the public on the 23rd and 24th, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. And continuing our custom of trying to make the nautical world accessible to all, we have managed to make it free of charge.
The Pelican of London has been designed to be used as a school ship. However, its range of activities has not stopped growing; and now, 70 years later, participates in some of the most important regattas and sailing events in the world, organizes conferences and seminars, publishes brochures and books, is dedicated to international research and promotes sailing training among the youngest .
So the sailboat has always wanted to maintain and enhance the objective for which it was created, forming today 32 young people without taking into account their age or experience, and giving them the opportunity to travel around the world while living in its own flesh the sea and all that this entails.
We encourage you to come to the port tomorrow and last and do not miss the opportunity to know the charms that the Pelican of London has been hosting for 7 decades.
